Kidney Biopsy Findings Among Allogenic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Recipients With Kidney Injury: A Case Series

چکیده
Rationale and ObjectiveThe incidence of kidney disease is high in patients after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (aHCT). Although rarely performed, biopsy may be useful to make a precise diagnosis because several mechanisms risk factors can involved, adjust the treatment accordingly. This case series aimed report spectrum findings from with injury aHCT.Study DesignSingle-center retrospective series.Setting ParticipantsAll individuals who underwent native biopsy, among all adult received aHCT tertiary hospital Montreal (Canada) January 1, 2010, December 31, 2020, were identified, clinical data extracted their medical records.ResultsA total 17 included. Indications for included acute (n=6), chronic (n=5), nephrotic syndrome (n=4), subnephrotic proteinuria (n=2). Pathologic heterogenous: 10 showed evidence thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA), 5 tubular injury, 4 membranous nephropathy. Cases interstitial nephritis, BK virus nephropathy, immune complex focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, minimal change disease, karyomegalic-like nephritis also described.LimitationsThere was no systematic performed aHCT. Only small proportion damage making results less generalizable.ConclusionsKidney tailor therapy one few published studies describing pathologic biopsies context disease. TMA widely present on even when there suspicion such diagnosis, suggesting that current criteria are not sensitive enough kidney-limited TMA. The Single-center series. All records. A described. There generalizable. Kidney

Tuberculosis in kidney transplant recipients: A case series
Solid organ transplant recipients have an elevated risk of tuberculosis (TB) with high mortality. Data about TB in this population in the United States is sparse. We present four cases of active tuberculosis in kidney transplant recipients at our center. All patients had possible TB exposure prior to transplant and all were diagnosed with active TB within the first year of transplant. Dissemina...
متن کاملA 16 Month Survey of Cyclosporine Utilization Evaluation in Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Recipients
Objectives: Graft versus host disease (GVHD) is a life threatening reaction in the stem cell transplantation process. Nowadays Cyclosporine is the most commonly utilized agent for GVHD prophylaxis and it has a major role in successful transplantation. Cyclosporine has been applied for many years in this field but it could be stated that currently no general consensus is available for its optima...

متن کاملDifferences of cytomegalovirus diseases between kidney and hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients during preemptive therapy
BACKGROUND/AIMS Cytomegalovirus (CMV) surveillance and preemptive therapy is a widely-used strategy for preventing CMV disease in transplant recipients. However, there are limited data on the incidence and patterns of CMV disease during the preemptive period. Thus, we investigated the incidence and pattern of tissue-invasive CMV disease in CMV seropositive kidney transplantation (KT) and hemato...
